Terms of Use

1. Website operator

The ciad.cz website is operated by Český Institut pro AI a Data z.ú. (CIAD, in English: the Czech Institute for AI and Data, a registered institute), Příčná 1892/4, Nové Město, 110 00 Prague 1, Czech Republic, Company ID (IČO) 297 52 736, registered under file no. U 1452 with the Municipal Court in Prague (office@ciad.cz).

2. Content licence

Public CIAD outputs (audit methodologies, checklists, blog) are published under the Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 licence · freely available for non-commercial distribution with attribution. Commercial use requires written consent from CIAD.

Design, graphic elements, the website source code and other content (blog, editorials, logos, visual identity) are protected under Czech copyright law · © CIAD, z. ú., all rights reserved unless stated otherwise for a specific element.

3. Audit reports and confidentiality

Audit reports prepared for clients are confidential and intended exclusively for the ordering party. CIAD may publish anonymised, aggregated findings from audits in the newsletter or on the website, always without identifying the client or the target system.

4. Content for informational purposes only

The website content and freely available CIAD materials are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute legal, financial, security or technical advice for any specific case. CIAD accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of published content, to the extent permitted by applicable Czech law.

5. Accuracy and availability

CIAD strives for accuracy and up-to-date published content. The website is operated without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. CIAD reserves the right to change, supplement or remove content at any time.

6. Links to third parties

Published content may contain links to third-party sources. CIAD does not control the content of external websites and accepts no responsibility for it.

7. Technical security

Report website security vulnerabilities to office@ciad.cz.

8. Commercial programs and audits

Commercial training, educational programs and security audits provided by CIAD are governed by separate contracts, communicated to clients before conclusion. These terms cover price, payment method, and the conditions and period for withdrawal from the contract (§ 1829 of the Czech Civil Code), plus complaints handling. Distance contracts concluded online are subject to a 14-day withdrawal period, unless a statutory exception applies and is duly notified.

The online dispute resolution (ODR) platform for consumer disputes is operated by the European Commission: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. CIAD does not recognise the use of ADR entities to resolve disputes arising from these terms unless expressly required by law.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Any disputes will be resolved by the substantively and locally competent courts of the Czech Republic; the general court of CIAD, z. ú. is the court for the Prague 1 district.

10. Changes to these terms

CIAD reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The current version is always available at ciad.cz/podminky (Czech, legally binding) and ciad.cz/en/terms. Continued use of the website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
